Reporting Boundary
& Consent Violations

At The Chilli Club, we are committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all attendees. Consent is absolute and non-negotiable. Any breach of boundaries will be taken seriously and addressed with care and discretion.

This document outlines the process for reporting concerns related to consent or boundary violations, as well as how those reports will be managed.

How to Make a Complaint

If you experience or witness a violation of consent or boundaries:

Option 1: Speak to a Staff Member in Person
  • Approach a designated staff member during the event (staff will be introduced at the beginning of the night)
  • You can speak privately and confidentially
Option 2: Submit a Written Report After the Event
  • Send a private message to a designated staff member on FetLife or via email here
  • Include as much detail as you feel comfortable sharing:
    – Your name (optional, but helpful)
    – Date and time of the incident
    – Names of those involved (if known)
    – A description of what happened
    – Whether you’d like a follow-up or resolution
  • If a law has been broken, the advice will be to see the Police. It is the NZ Police role to address any broken laws, not the Chilli Club.

What Happens Next?

Initial Acknowledgment
  • You will receive an acknowledgment of your report within 24–48 hours
  • We may ask for further clarification, only if you’re comfortable providing it
Assessment & Action
  • The staff team will review the report confidentially
  • If appropriate, the reported individual will be contacted to respond
  • Outcomes may include:
    – A formal warning
    – A temporary or permanent ban from future events
    – A facilitated conversation
(only if both parties agree and it feels safe to do so)
    – Referral to external support or mediation services (if needed)
Support
  • We can provide you with links to resources and support services if desired
  • You are not required to participate in any confrontation or mediation

Zero Retaliation Policy

We take reports seriously and do not tolerate retaliation of any kind toward someone who makes a complaint in good faith. Anyone found retaliating will be subject to immediate consequences.

Confidentiality

All complaints are handled discreetly. Your identity will never be shared without your consent, except in situations where safety is at risk and legally required disclosure applies.
